Pedestrian killed on M4

“Reports from the scene indicate that a thirty-four-year-old man tried to run across the roadway when he was struck by a car.”

A PEDESTRIAN was killed after being struck by a car on the M4 on Friday night.

Chris Botha from Netcare 911 said at around 10.17pm paramedics responded to a collision on the M4 near Walter Gilbert Road in Durban.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a thirty-four-year-old man tried to run across the roadway when he was struck by a car,” he said.
 
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the roadway with life-threatening injuries. The Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic and his team worked fervently at the scene to resuscitate the patient.
 
“Despite the medics working tirelessly for some time to save the man, he was tragically declared dead at the scene,” said Botha.
