56 suspects arrested this month by SAPS Mayville

SAPS Mayville have deployed its members to conduct a stop-and-search

THE Station Commander of SAPS Mayville, Lieutenant Colonel WB Luthuli has praised the SAPS Visible Police (VISPOL) Commander Captain SC Sithole and his Crime Prevention Team for the arrest of 56 suspects at the beginning of this month.

SAPS Mayville deployed its members to conduct a stop-and-search and as a result, 34 suspects were arrested for being in possession of dagga.

Roadblocks were conducted and 13 drivers were arrested for driving motor vehicles whilst under the influence of alcohol. The commitment and dedication of members resulted in more suspects being arrested for criminal activities including housebreaking and theft, a undocumented persons and possession of heroin.

“We are sending a strong message to the criminals operating in our community that we will continue to conduct stop-and search operations and hold roadblocks in Mayville area making sure that perpetrators of crime are all behind bars,” said Luthuli.
