Point SAPS, CPF conduct joint operation

The community was also encouraged not to leave their belongings

IN its effort to fight crime, the Point Police station has joined hands with the area’s Community Police Forum (CPF). The police held a joint crime awareness campaign last week to distribute pamphlets about the crime happening in the area. The police searched people and the community was also encouraged not to leave their belongings such as cellphones and wallets unattended.

Point SAPS Corporate Communication Officer, Captain B.J Simelane said this was an important step towards creating a crime free environment and also to build a relationship with Community Police Forum.

“With this initiative we hope to strengthen the relationship police have with the CPF working in the area,” he said.
