Police investigate abandoned baby

Durban Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is looking for the mother of a child abandoned in the CBD.

DURBAN Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing to the community for information with regards to a case of child abandonment they are investigating.

Const Zanele Khomo from Durban Central said on 1 August at about 3.15pm a baby girl was found abandoned by a security guard at the intersection of Joseph Nduli (Russell) and Dr Pixley Kaseme (West) Streets.

“The child was found on the floor wearing a white vest and khaki leggings and had a hospital tag on her right leg. She is about one month old,” said Khomo.
