Motorist fatally wounded in Glenwood shooting
A suspect allegedly approached the vehicle and opened fire on the man sitting in the vehicle, fatally wounding him.

A GUNMAN shot and killed a motorist and seriously injured a woman in a hail of bullets during a Glenwood shooting on Wednesday night.
Blue Security’s Andreas Mathios said the circumstances surrounding the shooting in Glenwood Drive at around 6.45pm, are unclear.
“The man was allegedly sitting behind the driver’s wheel inside his vehicle, which was parked outside a property in Glenwood Drive, chatting to the woman who was allegedly sitting next to him inside the vehicle.”
He said a suspect allegedly approached the vehicle and opened fire on the man in the vehicle, fatally wounding him.

“The woman jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the property screaming for help but the suspect then opened fire in her direction, critically wounding her. Netcare 911 paramedics attended the scene and transported the injured woman to hospital in a critical but stable condition.”
Mathios said at least six shots were fired during the incident. Paramedics declared the driver of the vehicle dead at the scene. Police are investigating the case.

In a separate incident armed robbers held up staff of a business premises in Umgeni Road at around 6.15am on Thursday morning, 28 February.
“The suspects held up staff at gunpoint and robbed them of cash and other valuables. No injuries were reported,” Mathios said.
This also follows the shooting in a Metro Police officer’s apartment in the Durban CBD earlier this week.
After responding to the scene paramedics described the incident as a ‘bloodbath’.
Four people were killed and several others injured in what was alleged to be a domestic dispute.
