Interact committee inducted

Part of the ceremony included the handing over of a cheque for R16 000 to Mayville Primary School to provide schoolwear for the learners.

EDEN College recently held its annual Interact Induction assembly.

This assembly is held to congratulate the outgoing 2018 Interact committee on their achievements and commitment as well as to welcome the new committee of Grade 11s for 2019.

Interact is part of Rotary International and organises ongoing community fundraisers and service projects. Serving on the Interact committee is a great honour and responsibility where learners are given the opportunity to learn leadership and planning skills.

This year the Induction Assembly was extra special as not only did the school host special guests from the Rotary Club of Durban, but also guests from Mayville Primary School. Eden’s Interact club has been raising funds and collecting resources for Mayville Primary and the Interact club handed over R16 000 to the Mayville principal, Mr Ndlovu, to equip learners with smart new uniforms and school shoes. Additionally books and posters were donated to brighten the classroom of Mrs Madlose.

The new 2019 committee was congratulated on being selected to lead the school’s service projects this year and a huge thank you went to everyone involved in supporting the projects in 2018.
