Serious accident on Umgeni Road claims one life

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the injured clambering to safety.

ONE person was killed this morning after a taxi overturned on Umgeni Road.

Several other people were also injured in the incident.

Spokesperson for Emer-G-Med Paramedics, Kyle Van Reenen said paramedics arrived on the scene to find the injured clambering to safety.

“A triage area was established on scene and the injured were treated and stabilised before being taken to various nearby hospitals for further medical care. One commuter was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on arrival. The cause of the crash is unknown and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation,” he said.
