Man robbed at knifepoint in central Durban
The suspect was arrested for common robbery and detained at Durban Central SAPS.
SWIFT police work led to an arrest after a robbery in central Durban on Saturday, October 23 at about 21:00.
Spokesperson for the Durban Central SAPS, Captain Muzi Maphumulo said a 37-year-old suspect is expected to appear in Durban Magistrates court today, Monday October 25.

“On Saturday, a complainant was walking along Field Street in the Durban CBD when he was robbed of his cellphone by an unknown suspect, who threatened him with a knife,” said Maphumulo.
According to Maphumulo, the complainant immediately flagged down Durban Central SAPS members, who were on patrol nearby.

“The description of the suspect was given to the police, and they drove around with (the complainant) looking for the suspect. The suspect was spotted along Albett Street and was arrested,” added Maphumulo.
The cellphone was also recovered from the suspect.
