WATCH: SPAR Superstars is back and better!

The school year is already well underway, and our SPAR Superstars initiative for 2024 is calling for high-achieving learners from all over KwaZulu-Natal.

THIS year, SPAR Superstars is bigger and better as the SPAR group has come on board to ensure that every child in every school, across the length and breadth of KZN, knows about this amazing initiative.

SPAR wants to recognise tomorrow’s leaders today. To do this, they have partnered with Caxton Local Media which, as you know, publishes and distributes thousands of newspapers every week.

We are looking for primary and high school learners who are an inspiration, learners who set an example for their peers, those who excel on the sports field or those who are kind-hearted and care for the needy.

If you are a learner, and you’d like to be nominated as a SPAR Superstar, start by letting your school know. Let the school decide if you are worthy of a SPAR Superstar nomination. The school will contact us, and you could be featured in our newspapers and on our websites.

To find out more about the amazing prize awarded to SPAR Superstars throughout the year and the grand prize at the end of the year, watch the video below:

Nia Louw

I am one of two journalists working on the Berea Mail Newspaper. We produce stories weekly for both print and online. I am dedicated to producing content that is current and engaging to our audiences, and with the help of our digital co-ordinator, Khurshid Guffar, and our editor, Corrinne Louw, we focus on producing content that keeps up with online trends and audience preferences. The Berea Mail website showcases a wide array of articles that fall under various categories, from entertainment, lifestyle, schools and food to crime, municipality-related stories and other hard news. I have been with the Berea Mail Newspaper for more than two years, and I am committed to producing accurate and newsworthy content. I have a good rapport with the local community and enjoy covering community-centred stories and sharing the stories of our local residents.
