Scouts founder remembered in awards ceremony

In commemoration of the founder of the Scouts Movement, Robert Baden-Powell, the BP Scouts Camp honoured its young and old rovers.

THE BP Scouts Camp was abuzz this morning (February 22), where scouts from across the the province were awarded. The event was held alongside the launch of the scouts’ National Theme: Water Safety Year.

KZN Scouts regional marketing manager Chris Pieters explained the significance of the occasion. “Every year on February 22, scouts across the world celebrate Baden-Powell’s birthday, and here in KZN combine that with a regional awards ceremony. We recognise too achievers from young meerkats upwards.”

Pieters encouraged youngsters to join the scouts movement, and get involved in their respective communities.
