Major temporary closure of N2 highway

SANRAL has announced major, full closures of the N2 in Durban, for the Wandsbeck Bridge demolition, lasting from March 7 to 9.

DUE to the demolition of Wandsbeck Bridge, motorists are urged to seek alternative routes.

SANRAL reported that key closures include the N2 Southbound at Inanda and Northbound at EB Cloete (Spaghetti Junction). Motorists must expect severe congestion and use R102/M19 as alternatives.

CLOSURE LOCATIONS:

N2 Southbound (King Shaka International Airport/Umhlanga to Amanzimtoti):

·N2 Southbound – carriageway fully closed at Inanda interchange. Vehicles can only proceed to Umgeni Road and M19.

N2 Northbound (Amanzimtoti to King Shaka International Airport/Umhlanga):

N2 Northbound – carriageway fully closed at EB Cloete interchange (AKA Spaghetti Junction). Vehicles can only proceed to N3 east or west.

EB Cloete Interchange (Spaghetti Junction):

N3 Westbound Off Ramp (Durban to King Shaka International Airport) – Ramp closed to N2 North (to Umhlanga/King Shaka International Airport) – can only proceed to N2 South or N3 towards Pinetown.

N3 Eastbound Off Ramp (Pinetown to King Shaka International Airport) – Ramp closed to N2 North (to Umhlanga/King Shaka International Airport) – can only proceed to N2 South or N3 towards Durban.

Inanda Road Interchange

N2 Southbound (to Amanzimtoti): No access to the N2. Can only proceed to Umgeni Road and M19
Umgeni Road (M19) Interchange:

M19 East and Westbound: No access to the N2 Southbound (to Amanzimtoti)

SANRAL appeals to road users to note and comply with the advance warning signs and speed restrictions.
