Police arrest murder suspects minutes after they killed a man

On Saturday, December 10, police responded to a scene at South Beach, just minutes after a young man was murdered, and arrested three suspects who also allegedly attempted to kill the man's father.

A SWIFT response from police has led to the arrests of three suspects, just a few minutes after they allegedly stabbed a 21-year-old man to death and attempted to kill his father in South Beach, Durban on Saturday afternoon.

According to Colonel Robert Netshiunda of the KwaZulu-Natal SAPS, the victim allegedly informed his father that he was assaulted by a group of young men, and together with his father, they reportedly approached the suspects.

“During the confrontation, three suspects allegedly produced knives and stabbed the son multiple times, and he was certified dead at the scene. The 46-year-old father was also reported to have sustained multiple stab wounds and was rushed to hospital for immediate medical attention,” said Netshiunda.

The colonel says the police who were deployed in the area responded swiftly to the incident and arrested the three suspects at South Beach. “The trio will appear in court soon on charges of murder and attempted murder,” said Netshiunda.
