Police seek assistance in rape case

Durban Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit detectives are seeking assistance to solve a case of rape they are investigating.

THE Durban Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit detectives are appealing to the public for assistance to solve a case of rape they are investigating.

According to SAPS sergeant Zanele Khomo, it is alleged by the complainant that on July 31, at 21:00, the victim, aged 32 years old, was at her place of residence on Syringa Avenue with her children watching television. “The door was locked with the gate open. Three unknown males came into her house. They instructed her 14-year-old son to leave the house while the small son was sleeping. Two of them raped her at her house at gunpoint,” said Khomo.

“We appeal to anyone who may have information that may assist in solving the case to contact investigating officer Detective Constable Dludla on
061 375 4876 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” he concluded.
