Fatal drowning at Glenwood swimming pool

Medi Response Advanced Life Support Paramedics were called to assist a man at a Glenwood pool. Unfortunately, they were unable to resuscitate him, and the man was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

YESTERDAY afternoon, paramedics responded to the scene of a drowning at a local Glenwood swimming pool, where they found an unresponsive man who had been rescued from the pool by lifeguards.

According to the Medi Response spokesperson Kimberly Liell-Cock, on arrival, it was established that the young adult male had experienced difficulty while swimming and became submerged beneath the water.

“Lifeguards on the scene had retrieved the man from the pool and initiated early resuscitative efforts while awaiting the arrival of emergency services,” said Liell-Cock.

The spokesperson says Medi Response Advanced Life Support Paramedics continued with these resuscitative efforts for approximately an hour. Still, unfortunately, these efforts were unsuccessful, and the man was declared deceased at the scene.

“While a large portion of the country continues to experience extremely high temperatures, we urge the community and holidaymakers to keep a close eye on friends and family when venturing out for a swim. We extend our condolences to the family of the deceased during this difficult time,” said Liell-Cock.
