Durban fans are in for a soulful treat when New Zealand Māori star TEEKS takes the stage at The Station as part of his SA debut tour.

NEW Zealand Māori soul sensation TEEKS is set to make his highly anticipated Durban debut when he brings his acclaimed live show to The Station in Stamford Hill on Friday, August 28.

The performance forms part of the singer-songwriter’s highly anticipated South African debut tour, with tickets available via Webtickets ranging from R495 to R695.

Known offstage as Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi, TEEKS has built an international following with his soulful voice and emotionally charged performances. He first gained attention with his 2017 EP The Grapefruit Skies, which featured songs such as If Only and Never Be Apart.

His career reached new heights with his 2021 debut album Something To Feel, an intimate exploration of longing, emotional awareness and unrequited love.

The album’s hit single First Time struck a particular chord with South African listeners after actor Natasha Thahane shared the song with her followers on social media. It went on to achieve Double Platinum certification in South Africa, while the album’s bonus track Oil & Water has also earned Platinum status.

With more than 200 million global streams and 2.5 billion short-form video views, TEEKS has become one of the Southern Hemisphere’s notable contemporary soul artists.

The Durban show comes as the artist enters a new creative chapter, following the release of his latest single “My Boy”, which explores masculinity, sexuality and Māori and Polynesian identity. Doors open at 19:00, with the concert starting at 20:00 and ending at 23:00.
