As we bid farewell to September, St Thomas Anglican Church Musgrave is once again opening their gates to the community. On October 4, the church will be raising awareness about conserving water, under the theme of Caring for Creation. This initiative is another step in St Thomas Church’s mission to become the Beacon of Berea.

The Wolf is at the door for school holidays
Sir Alexander Sidebottom’s children’s theatre at Westville Theatre Club has a new adventure for the October school holidays.

In this tale Sir Alex has left his theatre in the capable hands of his daughter Alexandra Sidebottom. As the story goes, Wilfred Ogden Lee the Fourth (WOLF) is going to need her help to achieve his New Year’s resolution and navigate a new way through Fairytale Land.

Directed and written by Leisel Pienaar alongside assistant director Delys Brouckaert and produced by Lloyd Wheatley, the audience can expect to see the piggies, Red Riding Hood and the boy who cried Wolf all make an appearance in this delightful mash-up.

While the tales are old, the format is new and will appeal to both young and old.

“There is a mix of music, dance and a smattering of audience participation to keep everyone involved,” said organisers.

The show is designed to run for one hour and there is unreserved cinema style seating with some space on the floor for picnic blankets, close to the action.

To book your spot, you can purchase a ticket for R90 per person (R70 for members and pensioners) via Webtickets. The doors to the venue open 30 minutes before the performance.
