Churches unite for Palm Sunday

City churches unite for Palm Sunday procession.

PALM Sunday was commemorated with a uniting procession through the streets as three Durban churches, St Aidan’s Anglican, St Anthony’s Catholic and St Faith’s Anglican parishes joined.

Hundreds of parishioners from the three churches congregated at St Aidan’s Hall for and introductory service before they were handed palm branches and crosses made from palm leaves and headed around the block singing songs of praises marking Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem. The church procession stopped at St Anthony’s Church where father Sean Mullin of St Anthony’s, Revd Malusi Msimango of St Faith’s and Revd Alvin Sigamoney of St Aidan’s, prayed.

The congregations continued to their respective churches for the rest of the Palm Sunday service.
