WATCH: Boksburg Advertiser’s car boot sale is very rewarding – sellers

A great event to make extra cash or bag a bargain.

The Boksburg Advertiser held its second car boot sale for the year on March 4 and delighted vendors hailed the event a big success.

Dozens of people turned up to browse and hunt for bargains from the huge range of goods on offer.

For those who are eager to grab a bargain or sell some possessions you no longer want, the Advertiser’s car boot sale is the place where you should be heading.

The Advertiser’s monthly outdoor car boot sale, held in conjunction with the Bokkie Park Food and Craft Market, has seen plenty of success over the past four years, and it has been growing popular as a highlight of the social calendar.
From the horse’s mouth
The Advertiser asked a few vendors, first-time seller Alsa Gabelone, Liz Wensley and Dalene Williams, to share their car boot experience.
They all said the event is rewarding.

Alsa Gabelone: “It’s my first time at the Bokkie Park and it was a very successful day. I can highly recommend it to other vendors who would like to sell their items. I sell various articles ranging from clothes, curtains, bedding, kitchenware, ornaments and other items. I’ve done various other car boot sales at the Bunny Park in Benoni. I’m definitely coming back here next month.”

Dalene Williams: “I’ve been coming to the market for almost a year now and we are doing well, every month is getting better. We sell a variety of staff, and the things you think that you not going to sell, you sell! I’m really really enjoying this market and I don’t think I will go to any other market for now. I just love this market.”

Liz Wensley: “I love coming here, especially when the weather is this brilliant. What a day out, you get to interact with people and browse through all the magnificent stalls. I’m loving it. Today I’m trying to get rid of my daughter’s stuff, who recently immigrated to England. I still got a whole lot of stuff at home, and I’ve already booked my spot for next month.
“It’s my first time back after nine months due to health problems, but I’m back and I’m so excited. Especially for a good day like today as I’ve managed to sell quite a bit and made a profit in just a couple of hours.”

Boksburg Advertiser’s Bokkie Park Car Boot Sale is home to all sorts of bargains for all ages.

Wensley pointed out that not only are car boot sales a great place to make some extra cash, as well as rid your home of some pre-loved items that have been gathering dust, but they also provide the opportunity for the traders to bag a bargain themselves.

More bargains
The Advertiser’s car boot sale is home to all sorts of bargains for all ages, ranging from valuable antiques and collectables to linen, clothing, kitchen appliances, tools, garden equipment, paintings, tools, kitchenware, books and toys.

Apart from the bargains, the pet-friendly monthly event is also packed with food and beverage vendors and stalls full of all kinds of craft items, with a live music performance to keep the sellers and buyers entertained.

Held all year round at the Bokkie Park, the Advertiser’s car boot sale runs with the market every first Saturday of the month from 09:00 to 14:30.
The next market is on April 1.
