Expect Top-Rate Security At K90

There have been no reported car thefts at the K90 Centre in the past three years.
This is according to the centre’s operations manager, Shaun Scott.
He explained that although the centre has always had surveillance cameras as part of its security strategy, a big investment has been made into state-of-the-art security cameras over the past two years and this investment has yielded very positive results.
“We are proud to report the K90 Centre is one of the least targeted shopping centres in Ekurhuleni, in terms of serious crime, and believe this has a lot to do with the security systems we have in place and the relationship we have with the police.”

As the operations manager, Scott represents the K90 at regular SAPS cluster meetings which are held with shopping centre stakeholders to discuss crime and security concerns and share information. The K90 Centre is guarded by security personnel and 12 car guards are also in place on a daily basis. There is strict and regular monitoring of the car and security guards and this adds to providing customers peace of mind. “Our CCTV system is very advanced and provides excellent, crisp and clear footage of the goings-on at the centre, 24 hours a day,” Scott said.
“This is a particularly important security aspect for customers who frequent the gym early in the morning or late at night and those who come to enjoy our restaurants at night.
“Our security footage has been very helpful to the police in the event of any incidents and is lauded as the most detailed and professional they’ve seen captured in a retail environment.”
Scott concluded that crime is an unfortunate reality and urged customers to be vigilant at all times. “If a customer sees anything or anyone suspicious while shopping with us, they should trust their gut instinct and immediately approach one of our security personnel or report it to the centre’s management.”The SAPS and other emergency services will be at the centre’s 20th birthday fun day on September 2, to interact with the crowd and answer any questions the public may have.
