The mother (24) was in the hospital to look after her ailing children, who were undergoing treatment in the burns ward of the hospital.
According to the Boksburg SAPS, the children were injured in a shack fire, which the father apparently set alight.
The woman told the police that she stepped into the toilet of the ward, when the man pounced on her and raped her on the floor.
Police confirmed that the suspect is the children’s father.
According to the police, few days after the rape, the man allegedly confronted the woman while at the Boksburg railway line station, and took her to an unknown place where he again repeatedly raped her.
Two cases of rape were registered at the Boksburg SAPS, and police are now hunting the suspect, whose age is estimated between 28 and 30.
Detectives are following any information that may lead to the man’s arrest.
The children have since been discharged from the hospital.
