Due to the extent of the problem, the police in partnership with the South African Liquor Traders Association (SALTA) and Brakpan Cluster Youth Desk, recently held an alcohol awareness campaign, called Phuza Wise, when loosely translated into English, it means drink responsibly.
During the event, the attendees were taught about the impact drinking alcohol has on their lives and lifestyle, while responsible drinking habits were also taught. Pamphlets carrying information about drugs and alcohol were distributed during the event.
