Ekurhuleni hosts memorial for Taegrin Morris

The Ekurhuleni metro will host a memorial service for Taegrin Morris tonight at the Reiger Park Community Hall.

Four-year old Taegrin was killed on Saturday (July 19) during a fatal hijacking in Reiger Park.

The metro says “enough is enough”, which is the message they are sending out against the scourge of drug abuse, gangsterism and criminality of inhumane proportion in the community of Reiger Park.

“The occasion will be used to denounce the level of violent crime that continues to undermine the human life in the area. The memorial service will advocate for social cohesion and peaceful co-existence amongst the residents of the area,” says metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

Gadebe says Gauteng premier David Makhura, Ekurhuleni executive mayor Clr Mondi Gungubele and B3 Funeral Services will take full costs of the funeral.

“We wish to give the young soul a fitting send-off and offload the family’s emotional and financial burden.” – @TumeloBoksburg
