A local resident from Witfield, who wished to remain anonymous, said there has been multiple break-ins at several complexes.

The resident said the thugs, who are believed to be armed and dangerous, gain access into complexes to steal cars and bikes.

She warns these thugs have been extremely active in the area for the last few weeks.

“They have gained access into our complex last week and walked around taking inventory off the vehicles and many other things – people should be on high alert as they seem to be active between 3am and 5am,” warned the resident, who wished not to name her complex for security reasons.

“This matter needs to be looked at as residents are extremely cautious and fearful.”

The resident said the neighbourhood watch have informed them that the gangs travel in a white Mercedes Benz, a black BMW as well as a white Polo (no registration plates).

The Boksburg North SAPS has been contacted but no response was received at the time of going to print.
