Laerskool Goudrand learners overjoyed at receiving lunch boxes
As part of the corporate citizen’s social responsibility initiatives, a team from the East Rand Mall Pick n Pay Hyper visited Laerskool Goudrand, where they donated lunch boxes to selected learners (Grade Rs and Grade Ones), on the morning of July 10.
Despite the current difficult economic environment, Pick n Pay Boksburg Hyper continues doing its part in supporting the community by giving back to the residents of Boksburg.
The branch’s customer service manager, Maggie Malapela, said the donation was part of the business’ commitment to giving back to the community, especially children.
“As part of our lunch box project, we were able to get enough lunch boxes which we subsequently decided to give to the little ones here at Goudrand.
“This time we decided to empower children because they are our future leaders; the real future of our country lies in their hands.
“Pick n Pay Boksburg Hyper will continue supporting our community where we can,” said Malapela.
Malapela also thanked her team for making this initiative a successful one.
The children were clearly happy to receive these gifts and collectively thanked the visitors for their generosity.
On behalf of the school and parents, Jessica welcomed the kind gesture and thanked Pick and Pay for its frequently support and contribution towards their learners.
