Charné’s family applauds detective’s hard work for securing a conviction
On January 7, the taxi driver was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.
The Lesar family from Parkrand has applauded the diligent work of Det Const Jacob Lambani from the Boksburg police station for securing a conviction for the man who killed their daughter.
Charné Lesar died on February 28, 2019 in a fatal crash on the corner of Van Wyk Louw and Trichardts streets.

On the day, a rescue crew arrived on the scene and found the two vehicles, a light motor vehicle and a taxi, had collided.
Three people in the taxi were treated and transported to the Sunshine Hospital. The young woman who was driving the light motor vehicle was declared dead on the scene.
Lambani who joined the SAPS in 2008 was then assigned to investigate the matter.
According to Lambani, Simphiwe Michael Ndlovu was found guilty of culpable homicide on November 5 by the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.
Ndlovu who lives in Villa Liza was a taxi driver for the Vosloorus and Boksburg route.
According to Charné’s father, Freddie, they were happy that justice had been served. “We are obviously pleased with the conviction, though it won’t bring our daughter back,” he said.
He mentioned that his family was taking each day as it comes.
The 22-year-old was scheduled to graduate last year after finishing her BCom accounting degree at the University of North West. She was a former learner at Boksburg High School.
