Hillsong Africa Foundation feeds Windmill Park
The reason why they applied for the food relief was to make sure their beneficiaries have something to eat
To alleviate hunger in communities, Hillsong Africa Foundation donated 100 food parcels to the community of Windmill Park on August 1.
The 100 families went home with a smile as they appreciatively held their food parcels after collecting them at the Revelation of Christ Apostolic Mission Church.
According to Nolufefe Mzwakali, founder of Masizakhe Family Centre based in Windmill Park, with the help of Gisela Gold they were able to apply for the food relief.
“The 100 families who benefited from the food donation were registered on the Masizakhe Family Centre database. They used to benefit from our programmes where we provided them with cooked meals every day. Unfortunately, we had to stop providing this service because of the lockdown regulations” Mzwakali said.
The reason why they applied for the food relief was to make sure their beneficiaries have something to eat during these trying times since most of them are unemployed and are relying on their services.
“We would like to thank the foundation for responding to our pleas,” Mzwakali said.
One of the beneficiaries, Dorah Mofokeng (65), expressed her gratitude for the food parcel.
