Veld fire apparent cause of truck crash
The driver was the only occupant of the truck and was transported to hospital
Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the N17 in Sunward Park on Monday afternoon at around 2.50pm.
According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst, reports from the scene indicated the driver of a heavy motor vehicle lost control, resulting in a rollover, allegedly after becoming disoriented by a roadside veld fire.
“The patient, an adult male, who was the only occupant of the truck, sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene before being transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment,” he said.
