Mother of five toddlers appeals for assistance
At their first birthday, Cuddlers marketing executive Murray Booth committed to continue supplying the quintuplets with nappies and wipes until the end of 2020, but the family of 11 still need additional support to keep going
The 32-year-old mother who gave birth to quintuplets in September 2018 is appealing for help.
Noluthando Ndlangisa, who used to live in Sunward Park, gave birth to four girls and a boy at Clinix Botshelong Empilweni Private Hospital in Vosloorus on September 6, 2018.
The birth of the five babies made headlines because this was the fifth set of quintuplets born in South Africa since 1960.
Known as the big five, Siyanda, Sibahle, Simesihle, Silindile and Sindisiwe are almost two-years-old.
Now, on the cusp of their second birthday, the quintuplets are said to be doing well but their mother is struggling financially due to the lockdown.
“Things have been hard for us because the father of the quintuplets no longer has a salary coming in, and because I am a receptionist at a gym, I’ve also suffered salary cuts.”
” I’m a single mother now and I’ve had to move back home with my mom and my two younger sisters, who are in matric and Grade 10.”
” We, along with my twins and quintuplets, live in a two-bedroom house in a township near Vosloorus,” she said.
A month after the birth of the quintuplets, Cuddlers donated a year’s supply of nappies and wipes to the Ndlangisa’s.
At their first birthday, Cuddlers marketing executive Murray Booth committed to continue supplying the quintuplets with nappies and wipes until the end of 2020 but the family of 11 needs additional support to keep going.
“Cuddlers has been helping all this time, but I don’t know what I’m going to do about potty training when they turn two.”
” They need clothes, high chairs, and toys, Ndlangisa said.
If you are able to assist in anyway, send an email to customercare@npride.co.za with quintuplets in the subject line, and you’ll be put in contact with Noluthando directly.
