Jobseekers beware of job scams, warns metro

Any municipal job application process conducted through social media platforms or social media messaging must always be considered a scam, said the metro

The City of Ekurhuleni warns jobseekers not to fall prey to job scam messages that are being sent to the public through social media.
According to metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe, the messages purporting to be from the City invite job applicants to present themselves at the municipal offices in Germiston for medical tests on November 20.
“The City reiterates that its job application process is not conducted through social media platforms or social media messaging.
“Our positions are strictly advertised on our website (www.ekurhuleni.gov.za/vacancies), where permanent, temporary and fixed-term vacancies are advertised.”
The City urged the public to vigilant, and report fraud and corruption on 0800 102 201.
