Wool Centre makes donation to New Life Boksburg and Boksburg SPCA
The company donated items such as scarves, beanies, blankets and non-perishable foods.
As part of its annual charity drive, the Wool Centre in Boksburg North made a generous donation to New Life Boksburg (NLB) and Boksburg SPCA recently.
The company donated scarves, beanies, blankets, rice, maize meal, canned tomato and onion mix, soup powder, soup ingredients, pasta and basic toiletries to the NLB church.
The owner of the Wool Centre, Elizabeth Evans, explained the non-perishable foods will help support the church’s feeding scheme. The knitted items will help to keep less fortunate people in the community warm.
Furthermore, they donated canned dog and cat food and cat litter to the furry friends at the Boksburg SPCA.
The initiative was made possible with the help of customers who donated the items to the business.
Evans said they started collecting the items at the beginning of March.
“There are so many people suffering due to the lockdown. Our business also took a knock due to the pandemic; however, we’re blessed our doors are still open. This way we wanted to give back to the community,” said Evans.
She thanked her customers for their loyal support.
“Without them this donation would not have been possible,” she added.
Evans highlighted that her shop is still collecting essentials and canned cat and dog food.
Donations can be dropped off at the shop located at 28 Charl Cilliers Street in Boksburg North.
