Winter market makes a difference for animal shelters

Due to the effects of the pandemic the organisations are also in need of funds to help them survive.

Some of the people spotted at the winter market held at the Impala Park Pre-Primary field on June 10.

Animal shelters based in Boksburg and surrounding areas will receive pet food, pet jerseys and blankets that were donated by the public on June 10 during the winter market held at the Impala Park Pre-Primary.

Organised by R and S, in conjunction with Legendary Guardians, the market was a great spot for a family outing.
Attendees had the opportunity to shop for winter garments while listening to good music and buying food.

The organiser, Rene Marais, said since they started the market last year in October every month they focus on a theme.

“This Saturday our theme was winter in line with animal shelters. Animal shelters tend to be of need during this period by requesting blankets to keep the animals warm.

“Due to the effects of the pandemic the organisations are also in need of funds to help them survive. We then thought we should reach out to them by asking the public to donate either pet food or blankets to assist where we can.”

Marais highlighted that all donations will be distributed to the Boksburg SPCA, TAG and other animal shelters.
