ILS celebrates first anniversary with youngsters from Kids Haven

In celebration of its first anniversary, Innovative Learning Solutions (ILS), a driver training centre in Boksburg East, hosted youngsters from Benoni’s Kids Haven to show them what a career in commercial driving can offer on June 10.
It was a fun-filled event where five teens received a comprehensive overview of the truck driving industry.
Furthermore, each child had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a truck.
Founder and CEO of Innovative Solutions Group Arnoux Maré said he is convinced that after sitting in the cockpit of one of the huge 18-wheelers and hear the roar of the engine, ‘they’ll hear their future careers calling’.
Boksburg is one of the main logistics hubs in South Africa and, according to Maré, the business has a sense of duty to inform the previously disadvantaged of the potential opportunity right on their doorstep.
“We are inspired by the words of Winston Churchill who once said: ‘we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give’,” Maré said.
Each child received a bag with goodies containing gloves, scarves, beanies and masks.
At the end of the event, ILS spoilt the youngsters with a boerewors roll and cooldrink.
Adele Pillay, youth manager at Kids Haven, expressed her gratitude to the company for inviting the children.
A Covid-19 success story
Though 2020 was an extremely challenging year for business, it didn’t stop Maré from starting up a new business venture ILS.
In June 2020, the company established a new driver training centre in Boksburg East. The centre originally aimed to assist South African Code 14 truck drivers but aims to ensure Code 10 drivers will receive the same benefits in time.
According to the company, over the 365 days since ILS opened its doors more than 8 000 drivers and businesses have enrolled for one or more of the courses in what is the largest Code 14 truck driver training facility of its type in Africa.
Maré said demand was strong from the get-go and has continued growing every month since.
