What is your message of encouragement to women?
South Africa commemorates Women’s Month in August as a tribute to the more than 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings on August 9, 1956, in protest of the extension of pass laws on women.
Since August marks Women’s Month, the Advertiser asked a few local women if they have words of encouragement for other women.
Tshepiso Kgowana: If one woman stands up for herself, she must remember she is standing up for a million other women.
Patience Khasu: You must stay positive and empower other women where possible. Furthermore, women should encourage each other to start their own businesses.
Natasha Swart: To be successful, you must first learn to love yourself. The power is in your hands.
Thandeka Mpopoti: Women need to learn how to love themselves. They must also be smart and know their rights.
Sharné Leeuw: A woman is a strong person who should always do good things for her family and other women.
