Support poker evening for a good cause
Members of the community are invited to support the event.
Boksburg Cardinals Baseball and Softball Club will be hosting a fund-raising poker evening at the Boksburg Stadium on October 31.
The event will commence at 16:00 and costs R400 for a buy-in.
According to the organiser of the poker evening, Michael Zietsman, the main aim of the event is to raise funds for Susan Sanderson, who is fighting cancer.
“Susan has breast cancer and sadly it has spread to other parts of her body and her oncology benefit is up for the year. Each chemo treatment costs about R6 000 and her new benefit will only kick in March. Our hands are a little tied, but this is our way to support her,” he explained.
Community members can alternatively donate towards the cause.
