Major shopping centres, including the East Rand Mall and East Point Shopping Centre, saw relatively thin crowds of consumers searching for the best Black Friday deals and discounts on Friday morning.
Although it was difficult for shoppers to maintain a social distance while queuing, shoppers were seen wearing their masks.

Retailers also adhered to the Covid-19 regulations, as they only allowed a limited number of people in their store at a time.
