Girl Guides spreads message of cleanliness at Bokkie Park

In celebration of #CalltoEarth Day on November 10, the Boksburg Teddies and Brownies visited the Bokkie Park to encourage people to pick up their own litter before they leave the park.

CalltoEarth Day is a global movement that emphasises the importance of protecting the planet.

According to Colleen Walker of Girl Guides, with the municipal workers and volunteers, they all handed out plastic bags and flyers to park lovers which detailed the rules of the park.

Colleen said the aim of the activity was to teach children the importance of keeping the environment clean while they are still young so they won’t forget when they are adults.
