SPCA Christmas Cheer Fund almost at halfway mark

Oliver, seen here with cadet inspector Ralph Chivaviro (left), inspector Denise Govender and inspector Neo Mmoya, is just one of the hundreds of animals the SPCA has been able to help with the generous support of the public this year. Oliver was surrendered to the SPCA in May, in a bucket filled with car oil, as his owner didn’t want him anymore. The little dachshund was skeletal and sick when they took him in and has undergone several veterinary interventions to get him to the bouncy, cheeky pup he is today. He has crept into all the staff’s hearts and has a particular soft spot for SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore, as is evident from their several Facebook posts about Oliver’s progress.

The Boksburg SPCA reminds individuals and businesses to support its Christmas Cheer Fund, which aims to raise money to help look after the animals in their care over the Christmas season.

This year, the SPCA wants to raise R100 000 with the Christmas Cheer Fund, having already reached the R40 000 mark.

To donate to the fund, visit the SPCA in Railway Street or deposit a donation into their bank account: Boksburg SPCA, Absa Bank, branch code 632005, account number 4046388139, reference: Christmas Cheer and your name/anonymous. It’s important to state that the payment is for the Christmas Cheer Fund.
