ERU grateful for donation

This donation will assist the club with its preparation for the Valke Peregrine League.

Comet resident Gareth Williams recently lend a helping hand to the Reiger Park-based East Rand United (ERU) Rugby Club by donating R10 000.

The club has been going through financial difficulties after it parted ways with its main sponsor Phakisa Holdings in 2019.

Williams has a passion for the sport and is committed to giving back to the community.

“If I can make a difference in one person’s life through this contribution it will be worth it. I spoke to the club’s deputy chairperson, Cyril Reeby, and he explained what the club is about and its requirements,” said Williams.

Reeby expressed his gratitude to Williams for his generous contribution.

“This is a step in the right direction and we can now only go from strength to strength. This contribution will help us prepare for the upcoming Valke Peregrine Leauge,” said Reeby.

United is still looking for a sponsor. If you are interested in the club and wish to assist, find Reeby on social media or visit the club.

They practise on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 18:15 to 19:45.
