Butchery to support local welfare

Cinderella butchery Braai is Kwaai (X-treme Wors) recently announced that they have committed themselves to assist the Boksburg Child Welfare (BCW) where possible.

According to the owner of the butchery, Thys le Roux, the shop will among other things help the BCW with the maintenance of its buildings.

“If they need a window or something like that repaired, we’ll cover the expenses. For the next six months, a percentage of all our sales will also go towards items that the organisation needs.

“Furthermore, Boksburg Child Welfare can purchase items at the store at a discounted price. We want to help the organisation because we’re committed to making a difference in the community,” said le Roux.

Two-in-one wors
The owner explained that Braai is Kwaai is the first shop in the world to sell two-in-one wors, which is boerewors that has fillings like pap, cheese and spinach.

“It all began in 2013 while I was selling pap and wors. I always had leftover pap and thought why not put the pap inside the wors. After eight years of research and building three machines, I could finally make two-in-one boerewors.

“I started with a plastic machine, but now I have built a decent machine that can produce two tons of two-in-one wors per day. I can now basically put any filling inside the wors, even curry and rice.

“The two-in-one wors is a low-cost meal that is filling and easy to cook or braai. It has many advantages.”
He highlighted the community responded well to two-in-one boerewors.

Braai day
He added that the butchery is planning to hold a fun-filled braai day in support of the Child Welfare Organisation.
“We’re going to braai two-in-one wors for some of the children and stakeholders at Boksburg Child Welfare attending the event. Furthermore, we’re going to sell wors and the profit will go towards BCW.

Moreover, we want to set a Guinness record for the longest piece of boerewors with pap in it. The exact date and location of the event are to be determined.”

Le Roux explained Trinity Properties and Graphite Security will also support the event.

BCW thankful
Vanessa Naidoo-Pillay, director of BCW, expressed her gratitude to X-treme Wors for committing themselves to assist the organisation.

“Our organisation appreciates that they share in our vision and mission in strengthening families and building stronger, healthier, and safer communities. In assisting the organisation with maintenance needs, X-treme Wors would be assisting to create a comfortable working environment for our staff and clients who visit our offices for support and social service assistance.

“BCW has three offices and appreciates any assistance as the maintenance needs are dependent on donors and funders.”
