29th Annual Chris Hani Commemoration

April 10 marks exactly 29 years since Hani was assassinated outside his Dawn Park home, in Boksburg.

Preparations for the annual Chris Hani commemoration are well underway.

With sketchy information available at the time of compiling this report, the metro could only confirm that the wreath-laying ceremony for the late anti-apartheid icon will be held on April 10.

“Preparations are still underway and we will share more details once everything has been confirmed and finalised,” said metro spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini.
The celebration will be held at the Thomas Nkobi Memorial Park, in Elspark, where Hani was buried in 1993.
