Donate Easter treats in support of BCW’s stranger danger programme
In celebration of Easter, Boksburg Child Welfare (BWC) will be hosting a stranger danger programme at its premises in Reiger Park on April 13.
Director Vanessa Naidoo-Pillay said they are going to educate children about child abduction and the various tactics used by perpetrators.
“We want to enable them to understand what to do in risky situations. They must know when it’s a safe situation and when it’s dangerous. Many times perpetrators lure children with treats.
“Hence, we’re ending our programme with an Easter hunt, an example of a safe situation as we don’t expect them to do anything in exchange for the sweets.”
She is appealing to the community to donate Easter treats that will assist them with the hunt.
This event is also a precursor to Child Protection Week (May 29 to June 4).
