Mother’s Day: Tell us what’s on your mind

The majority of residents would like to spend time with their children on Mother's Day (May 8).

In the light of Mother’s Day, the Advertiser asked a few mothers at Huis Dien Bothma their thoughts about the day.

Miemie Richter
I’m looking forward to Mother’s Day because I will be able to spend time with my children. I don’t want money, silver or diamonds; I just want my children to be with me.

Renie Delport
It can be a sad day. Two of my daughters live in Cape Town and I miss them. At least they always make a plan to make me feel special on this day. I will also celebrate the day with my other two daughters who live close by.

Patricia Knight
It’s a big and difficult day for me because my only son, Michael Knight, died a few years ago.

Peggy le Roux
I look forward to seeing my children on Mother’s Day. I miss them and I always enjoy spending time with them. I love my children and grandchildren.

Sue Fernandes
I think it’s a special day because mothers get the opportunity to spend time with their children. My wish for this Mother’s Day is to spend time with my children. It’s the best thing to be with your children.
