Soccer player needs funds to attend the CR7 Soccer Tournament in Portugal

Caleb Beckweitz (10) from Freeway Park, who is passionate about soccer, was selected to attend the CR7 Soccer Tournament that takes place in Madeira, Portugal from June 20 to 27.

According to his parents, Roland and Arlene Beckweitz, he has been fascinated with everything about soccer since he could kick a ball as a toddler.

“He spends hours practising and is a focused, hardworking and dedicated young man who gives everything to his passion. Caleb is a team member at Jorge Elite Soccer School in Huddle Park, Edenvale.

“An academy will teach players to play all positions, but Caleb wants to be a striker (7). His hero is Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo,” Arlene explained.

She said Caleb was selected as one of 10 boys to attend the CR7 Soccer Tournament.

“This is a great honour and privilege for him because he has worked very hard to get to this point in his soccer career.”

Caleb is, however, in need of the community’s support to make his Portugal dream a reality.

“Although we are doing everything in our power to raise the necessary funds, we are unfortunately not in a position to pay for this trip. We, therefore, request the community’s assistance to help our son go to Portugal.

“The costs include airfare, accommodation and other incidental costs. Should we be unable to raise the funds, Caleb’s soccer dreams will be shattered.

“Any donation, however great or small, will help Caleb achieve his dream and hopefully steer his destiny as a professional soccer player in years to come,” Arlene added.
