Man nabbed for unlicenced firearms, ammunition
The arrest was made in the vicinity of Rondebult and Main Reef roads on May 23.
Boksburg North SAPS arrested a man for the procession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in the vicinity of Rondebult and Main Reef roads on May 23.
The arrest was made by Warrant Officer Jaco van der Mescht and Sergeant Heinreich Bester.
According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Constable Justice Ramaube, the officers were performing their duties when van der Mescht noted a man who looked like he had a firearm on him.
“The officers followed him and found him standing by a small room. He was carrying rifles. The man was arrested and the room searched, where ammunition was also found. Upon his arrest, the man said he is working as a security guard for illegal miners.”
According to Ramaube, the suspect is still in jail and the trial is underway.
