Most of the locals are planning on staying at home for the June/July holidays, as the price of holidaying in the country has risen dramatically this year.

Prices in the country have jumped, and the costs of going away for the holiday are too high. With schools closing for the June/July holidays , the Advertiser asked a few locals if they are going away for the holidays.

Jimmy Ndembera: We will not be going away for the school holidays because we just want to relax at home.

Maxine McNielage: We will not be going away for the holidays as I don’t want to leave my horse.

Gerhard Visagie: My family will not be going away for the school holidays as it is expensive and I lost my job a few years ago due to Covid-19.

Lydia Pretorius: I will not be going away for the holidays as I’m working. I’m saving up for the December holidays.

Lebo Mokoatle: Yes, we are going to Clarens to visit family members and relax during the holidays.
