A trainer raising funds to protect animals

Constable is ready for the upcoming Rhino Peak Challenge that will be taking place on September 17.

A personal trainer Kenneth Constable who is an ambassador of a competition dubbed Rhino Peak Challenge (RPC) hosted a Family Fun Day to raise funds for a good course of preserving various animals, especially rhinos.

Constable said they are about 36 ambassadors in the RPC and their primary responsibility is to raise R20 000 each for the preservation of various animals.

“We will be running and walking at the Maloti Drakensberg World Heritage Site where the past races of the challenge have been taking place, since its inception in 2016.

“The Rhino Peak Challenge organisers are hosting the challenges to help the Wildlife ACT. It’s a non-profit organisation that helps African game reserves without funds to preserve their animals and environment by monitoring them free for them. They also help in tracking the animals.

“People who want to know more about the roles of the RPC and Wildlife ACT can access the RPC website which is www.rhinopeakchallenge.co.za and the Wildlife ACT website which is www.wildlifeact.com.

“If anyone in Boksburg or wherever in the world wants to donate any amount of the R20 000 I’m supposed to raise can access the RPC website and click on the 2022 ambassador column and scroll until they get my name and then donate on my name’s column, that will be appreciated from my side.

He added that he would like to thank all his family and friends that made it to his Family Fun Day initiative because they made a difference in his life and it was surely a wonderful day.

“Taking part in this challenge is a good experience for me because I have been offered an opportunity to do something that most people wouldn’t do.

“I’m doing it for a good cause and I hope I will inspire other people to take part in future challenges. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything else because I’m surely doing something that I love.

“Being active is part of my life because I have been active all my life that’s why I even became a fitness trainer. I have done mountain biking, and track cycling and I have also been a triathlon athlete,” said Constable.

“This challenge has been an adventure for me because I have learned a lot of things. I have learned that no matter how busy you are, you need to find time to do something charitable. I have also learned how to organise events.”

The Family Fun Day comprised a 3km run and 7km cycling fun races.
