Needy babies showered with wet wipes

In return, the mayor handed over two certificates of recognition to the donors

 

Ekurhuleni Mayor Tania Campbell has on December 7 received a donation of 24 000 baby wet wipes to benefit needy babies.

Some of the donated packets of wipes, donated by Procter & Gamble (P&G) South Africa, were distributed to less fortunate babies at the Germiston clinic by the mayor and P&G representative Mahmoud Sayed.
Boxes of wipes will also be distributed to babies at other 77 primary healthcare facilities in the city.

The mayor described P&G’s gesture as a testament to show the organisation’s understanding of the socio-economic challenges faced by parents and guardians. As a token of appreciation, the mayor handed over two certificates of recognition to P&G representative and Merencia Scholts from EL-Shammah home.

EL-Shammah home is Primrose based NGO, which takes care of abandoned children. The organisation also received a donation of 20 boxes of wet wipes which comprises of 24 packets.
