The Boksburg North SAPS held a memorial service for the late Warrant Officer Madimetja John Bambo at Christ Church Boksburg on April 19.
Bambo served in the SAPS for more than 20 years and died on April 16 after an illness.
He began his journey in 2002 at Elsburg Police Station and was transferred to the Boksburg North SAPS in 2003, where he served until he died.

“Bambo was a very dedicated man who was very helpful, friendly and always went the extra mile to ensure that the community received the service delivery they deserved,” said Colonel Mack Mngomezulu at the service.
“A soldier has fallen; we need to pick up that sword and keep fighting.”
Bambo received a ten-year commemoration medal, SAPS ten-year loyal service medal, Soccer World Cup 2010 support medal, centenary medal, and the SAPS 20 years loyal service medal.

“Condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” said spokesperson of Boksburg North police station, Sergeant Justice Ramaube.
