Pet food drive collects about 300kg for SPCA

The donated food would be handed over to the animal welfare.

A local business, Sweet Deal Properties, made its mission on September 9 to ensure that the hungry animals at the Boksburg SPCA are fed.

The team from the family business held a pet food and clothing drive in which they encouraged generous locals to drop off or donate pet food and clothing in Beyerspark.
They collected 300kg of dry pet food, and 50 canned pet food and other pet snacks.

One of the event organisers, Candice Barnard, said the donated food would be handed over to the animal welfare, and the pet blankets and other items would be donated to the SPCA charity shop.

“I would like to give a big thanks to Razak Attorneys for helping to make this day possible, and to the public for their generosity. Thank you to all the volunteers who also helped on the day. Thank you to some of our sponsors, Telesense Ooba Boksburg, Stacey from Hammond Pole, Nelsons & Sons Beyerspark, Cindy Ras from Infinity Nails and Warren Potgieter from Eurolux Perfumes.”

Candice Barnard, Eleanor Barnard and Imtiaz Shaikh were among the team members who made sure the furry friends at the SPCA did not go hungry.
The team received 300kg of animal food from locals who donated towards the cause.
