International Bowls for the Disabled tourney starts this weekend

The matches will start at 09:00.

Nine nations, including host SA, will battle it out for top honours when the fifth International Bowls for the Disabled (IBD) Championships starts this weekend.

The tournament kicks off with the opening ceremony tomorrow (May 18) at 16:00 at the Delville Bowling Club in Germiston, with the matches to officially begin on May 19. The proceedings will conclude on May 31.

The participating countries are England, Scotland, Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Republic of Korea and SA.

Gareth Reece-Gibbs will represent SA.

Delville Bowling Club will host the main matches, including the play-offs and finals on May 30 and 31.
Kempton Park Bowling Club and Benoni Central Bowling Club will serve as alternative venues.

All the matches will start at 09:00.
